End-to-end serviceManaging the entire project from start to finish in order to obtain optimal results is not difficult, but it does require careful preparation and focused analysis. The Synthetron team of experienced consultants can support you as much or as little as your require with expertise and resources in all phases of the project. Most clients choose our end-to-end service for their first Synthetron discussion and thereafter select services to meet their needs. We are also happy to transfer skills to identified client team members. Straightforward process
There are 3 simple steps to running a Synthetron session. From start to finish, it only takes a few hours of your time – the only delay is inviting participants and giving them time to plan to join the discussion.
Step 1: PrepareSynthetron discussions need to be prepared in order to be most effective. We start with what you hope to find out and use our knowledge of how groups respond to different questions and phrasing to draft a script for you. We suggest you consider: - What is useful intelligence for you?
- What type of feedback are you looking for?
- What are the main assumptions you’d like to test?
- What would you do with that information if you had it?
Setting up a Synthetron discussion is straightforward. We can prepare an invitation and email it to your distribution list. We tell them what the discussion will be about, when it will take place and how they can join it. We can recommend how many invitations you should send based on our experience of response rates. Step 2: Hold the eventThe Help desk is open from 30 minutes before the start of a discussion and all the way through it. Synthetron consultants will run the discussion and moderate. We encourage clients to co-moderate so they can see what is happening first hand, and we can fine-tune the script according to the way the group responds.
The experience for participants will be of a manageable and stimulating discussion in which they are free to express themselves when and how they wish – and have a say about everything else that is said. No physical meeting can compare to a Synthetron session. A typical Synthetron discussion lasts about one hour.
Step 3: Results As soon as the discussion ends, the structured list of Synthetrons – those ideas and opinions the group considers to be the most important – is available. Most clients choose to have a Synthetron Management Report so that they have an objective view of the key findings of the discussion for circulation and follow up. A Management Report is available about 5 days after the last discussion and covers three areas: Content analysis: what were the central themes that emerged during the discussion. Activity analysis: how the group acted during the discussion, benchmarked against the Synthetron database Behavioural analysis (optional): what are the Group’s underlying motivations and attitudes towards the subject being discussed, what is the most effective language to influence them?
