What do I need to know about a Synthetron discussion ?

• you can join in via a weblink, from any PC with internet access
• participation is anonymous
• all participants respect each other and follow normal ethical standards

How does a Synthetron discussion work ?

• you will see the conversation topic at the top of the page and can enter your comments at the bottom
• in your comments, give one idea at a time so that others can clearly assess what you are saying
• as well as making your own comments, you will assess comments from other participants with a simple one-click mechanism
• collaboration is also important and you can use the elaborate function to bring depth to the discussion
• as a comment gains support, it becomes a Synthetron and migrates around the rest of the group looking for more support
• you don’t need to say things all the time, it works best if you balance your time between reading, reflecting and writing
